Cataract

Cataract refers to a number of eye disorders in which clouding occurs in the once clear lens of the eye. This clouding is a frequent symptom of aging of the lens and usually does not occur until after the age of 60. The patients’ ability to see and perceive contrasts continually worsens, creating the feeling that they are looking through a veil.

However, cataract may also occur in younger people, for example, as a congenital disorder, as a result of eye injuries or other eye disorders, or as an associated symptom of a general illness, such as diabetes.
